Just popping in here with a quick post to give you up an update on Reading Wales Month.
We’re just over halfway through and I’ve been astounded at the level of support from you all. Reading Wales Month got organised in a bit of a rush this year so that didn’t give people much time to search through TBRs or library catalogues to find something suitable to read. The variety of books you’ve found has been really impressive.
We’ve had poetry from the former National Poet of Wales, short stories, crime fiction set in rural Wales, and a classic of Welsh fiction which blends crime and industrial unrest. Literary fiction is represented with Clear by Carys Davies and Mrs Jeckyll by Emma Glass — one of the contenders for the Dylan Thomas prize.
I’ve read three books by Welsh authors so far and am now on my fourth, Clear by Carys Davies. As always I’m a bit behind with the reviews but hope to catch up soon.
You can find links to everyone’s reviews on the ReadingWales25 page — if I’ve missed anything do please let me know in the comments below.
