It’s December which means it’s time once more to tackle the My Life in Books meme. I say “tackle” but it’s actually very easy. I’ve been doing this meme each year since 2019 with only a few variations in the prompts. I’m using the same ones as last year, using the titles of books I read in 2023 and trying not to repeat any titles. I’m including links to those I’ve reviewed on the blog.
In high school I was: The Snow Hare (Paula Lichtarowicz)
People might be surprised by: Strange Weather in Tokyo (Hiromi Kawakami)
I will never be: The Unknown Terrorist (Richard Flanagan)
My fantasy Job is: The Eighth Detective (Alexi Pavesi)
At the end of a long day I need: (To) Drift (Caryl Lewis)
I hate being: My Turn To Make the Tea (Monica Dickens)
I wish I had: (The) Newspaper of Claremont Street (Elizabeth Jolley)
My family reunions are: How to Kill Your Family (Bella Mackie)
At a party you’d find me with Nora (Nuala O’Connor)
I’ve never been to Revolutionary Road (Richard Yates)
A happy day includes: The Prophet Song (Paul Lynch)
Motto I live by: Trust (Hernan Diaz)
On my bucket list is: The Electric Hotel (Dominic Smith)
In my next life, I want to have: Days at the Moriaski Bookshop (Satoshi Yagisawa)
Well this was just as much fun as in previous years.
Take a look at how Annabel, Susan and Cathy answered the questions. And then maybe have a go yourself?
